Our vision at the Haven is for all kids to be wrapped around, shown love, and included in all aspects of service. We pray to see your children healed and fully access the word of God in a meaningful, tangible way and receive the gifts He has for their life.
Parents will go to service knowing their child is safe and will be engaged in fun, time of worship, learning about Jesus, and fellowship with peers.
Volunteer
Volunteers are called to this ministry who are currently or previous professionals in the Exceptional Children’s field.
We also welcome compassionate individuals trained by Calvary Kids staff or Haven director.
First Time?
Families visiting for the first time must complete a meet and greet interview with a Haven team member at least one week prior to dropping their child off at the Haven. We do this to ensure we have a better understanding of how to best meet the child’s needs before they remain under our care for the duration of service.
Who is the Haven for?
Children with identified or unidentified exceptionalities that would benefit from one-on-one support or small group setting while at Calvary Kids.
Families with children who need additional support to meet their behavioral, emotional, social, and functional needs.
You will be given a brief, but detailed information sheet followed by an in-depth private interview to discuss the unique needs of each child. These conversations allow our team to determine the best plan of action to ensure success during the child’s time at Calvary kids.
Where is the Haven located?
Ages 0-2 nursery is fully integrated with peers and closely monitored by the nursery team.
Ages 3-4 pre-k has their very own Haven room with a sensory design and toys for extended play.
Elementary ages have a sensory room and multipurpose room for play and small group activities.
Every age is integrated with peers accompanied by a Haven “buddy”.
When is the Haven open?
Every Sunday- 9:45AM until the end of service.
What is a Haven "buddy"?
Children are paired with buddies to participate with one-on-one in free play, small groups, and service. Buddies closely monitor the need for a break, use of fidgets, use of headphones, visual schedules or supports, dietary restrictions, and advocating for communication and participation.
One-on-one buddy to support full inclusion of the Sunday experience at Calvary Kids including free play, small groups and service.
What is the Haven team?
Haven team members are stationed in the Haven at all times to carry on differentiated small group activities, worship songs adapted Bible stories, and free play with students.
While in the Haven there is a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children.
